Montreal Kitchen

Kitchen + Utility

Montreal Kitchen was transformed from a dark and traditional kitchen, to a warm, welcoming and functional space. While we maintained the same footprint for the kitchen to eliminate the need to move structural walls, the updated millwork design not only makes the space feel taller with upper cabinets the full height of the ceiling, but also adds several customized storage elements for specific needs of this family. Included in this design are spice and trash drawers, a pantry pull out, snack tray pull outs and special pantry shelf spacing for small appliance storage. The tall sloped vent hood adds a classic touch, and a nod to the traditional architecture of the home. The warm quartz countertops provide durability as well as a gorgeous working surface and backsplash. In this kitchen, the family dog has his own special water and food spot, fully equipped with a dog water fountain. The bar area was updated to include a beverage refrigerator for grabbing a drink on the way out. As the utility room also doubles as the back door entry, a cabinet was added specifically for dropping shoes and bags before entering the house. By stacking the washer and dryer we were able to achieve more storage space in this room.
