Stone Oak

Kitchen + Utility Room

The Stone Oak kitchen renovation took advantage of the existing cabinetry layouts, while completely refreshing with a fun, rustic and fresh style. The homeowners enjoy cooking as well as entertaining so a built in bar and espresso machine replace the existing mud bench that wasn’t efficiently used. Aspects that remained include the beautiful hardwood floors as well as the stone detail on the back of the large island. By keeping the existing cabinetry layout we were able to work with the existing wood flooring, removing the cost of replacing flooring. The kitchen includes many exciting details including old reclaimed wood for the floating shelves, refrigerator drawers for produce directly adjacent to a prep sink with cutting boards within reach. Storage details include a KitchenAid cabinet with hydraulic lift, an end-of-cabinet shallow keys and file cabinet, charging station, and as many drawers as we could muster in lower cabinets. One of our favorite areas of the kitchen is the espresso station complete with built in espresso machine, drawers beneath for mugs as well as a pull out surface to mix cream and sugar.

The utility room received a great face lift and added storage by adjusting the cabinetry layout to include a stacked washer and dryer. This allowed us the space for a dog bowl station, as well as hanging rod for clothes drying. The reclaimed wood from the kitchen was used for floating shelves in the utility room for plants and open storage.
